The King and I – Dixie Drama, Music, and Art…

One of the best things a school can do for its students is to offer artistic opportunity in drama, music, and art.  Dixie did that for the class of sixty-nine and more.  Did you see the show?

  1. I still have the program from “King and I”…it was an awesome production! Lots of really talented students in it. Especially loved Rick Fisher’s “King.” He surprised us all. Too bad we didn’t all have cell phones back then to record it.

I was Class of ’70 but most of my close friends were ’69. I was in band (trumpet) and actually turned the music pages for the pianist during the “King and I” performances. Great memories!

I left the state shortly after graduation, lost touch with everyone. Just discovered these pages recently (feeling old and nostalgic, did a little searching one night after a few glasses of wine!). Was sorry to see that so many people I knew had passed. But I’ll always remember them as young…full of life, with promising futures.
